5 ways to stay connected with your body

Ok, so here we are , we have our minds , bodies , egos, dreams , thoughts , personalities etc. Everything that makes us unique in some way.

Some of us taking care of what they eat , how often they exercise , and some of us literally don’t give a damn. I live in Scotland long enough to have seen the most crazy type of lunches you can imagine :).

But are we really that different?

On subatomic levels we are just the same. We are made from same molecules In fact we are built from the same elements Universe contains of. So, in the end we are just a cosmic dust , on this physical plane. The fact that we also have our mind body, and spirit is a whole different story. Today we will focus on the body.

Have you ever deeply thought of how amazingly your body is built? How all these systems work perfectly with each other to keep our health on optimal level?

The electrical impulses travelling between the synapses , containing information about your internal and external environment. They work all the time. Our brain contains of sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems which when in balance work perfectly making our lives easier than we think.

However we are living in strange times where we disconnected from our bodily sensations. We are living just in our heads. We analyse everything rather than being aware using our whole body.

We are energetic, vibration beings, and in turn we can receive and feel the energy around us and within us. We just completely shut from this superpower.

Being aware that something is not quite right in your energy field can help you address the issue before it becomes dis-ease. Here are few examples of how you can reconnect with your body sensations.

  1. Earthing & Grounding

Really there is no better feeling than step your feet on a mother Earth in warm spring day. Our bodies needs the Earth magnetic filed (7.8Hz) to regenerate and keep optimal health of our tissues. You may have heard about problems , astronauts experience when they coming back from longer space missions. Bones density changes , high blood pressure accumulated in the head , causing vision problems and muscle degeneration. Staying close to mother earth is also bringing sensations to nerve endings in your feet. We need this to keep our posture aligned and healthy. It also helps to stay grounded , “in the moment” and balance your root chakra.

  2. Do less

Really it’s that simple. In a world that keeps speeding up, we need to learn to slow down. Sometimes it means to say no, sometimes it’s just a matter of lying down and breathe. Obviously we don’t want be get into inertia and laziness, but we also need to find time for rest, reflection, self care. When I have some time for myself I’m hiding in my yoga room , burning sage or paolo santo, lighting the candles, meditate, stretch , play on my sacred instruments. Breath becomes deeper, muscles relaxed and you feel connected with yourself better than ever.

  3. Log off

Spend less time on social media, television , and anything that distract your from being present. When our mind is pre-occupied with terrible things we see on the screen, our body alchemy is changing. It’s like junk food but delivered to your body through waves and vibration. From time to time it’s good to log off. Put a hand on your belly or chest and affirm your body , that you’re listen, that you’re there, that you’re present.

  4. Spend time in nature

Nature is a part of us and we are the part of nature. We can learn from nature, its cycles of death and rebirth, from this perfect harmony. Nature emanates frequencies that are beneficial to our cells at the DNA level. Have you ever heard the sound of the body electrical impulses? It literally sound like a flowing water. We are one with this beautiful system and we can heal by it.

  5. Move , stretch, dance

A lot of the tensions are held by our body tissues. This stagnant energy needs released in order for us to stay healthy and balanced. Mindful movements like yoga, Qi Gong, dance , swim can restore that balance and remove the blockages built up in your energy channels (meridian lines).

As you reconnect with your body you will realise that there is no difference between your mind and body. This is all a part of your existence in this realm.

Treat your body like sanctuary , not like a bin bag. That’s the starting point, of your journey towards healing.
